ITS THANKS GIVING, but this time for cattle’s
The harvest fair is celebrated by farmers all over Maharashtra. On this day bullocks, which are an integral part of the agricultural chores and consequently the village economy, are honored. They are bathed, colorfully decorated and taken out in processions across the village, accompanied by the music of drumbeats. Pola brings out an important facet of Hindu culture, which does not look upon cattle as mere beasts of burden, but treats them with dignity and gratitude.
“India lives in her villages”, where in the local village communities welcome you to partake in their life. In her villages the true essence of India is present: the richness of culture, abundance of nature, still preserved & practiced ancient traditions & knowledge systems and colorful & diverse lifestyles but most of all her every welcoming & full of heart people.
Your Photo Corner journey is filled with ‘story making’ potential.
